Margaret Ruth Heilig of Salisbury, North Carolina was a student of the North Carolina College for Women (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro), graduating in 1920 with a Bachelor's degree. While a student, Heilig was a member of the Cornelian Society and was a Proctor, Fire Lieutenant, Corresponding Secretary of the Cornelian Society, and Reporter for the Carolinian.
